Picking the top 10 of anything is a dubious effort for a number of reasons that we will get into. Regardless, we've had a lot of requests for the top 10 dude ranches, so here we go.
The best of anything depends on the perspective of the person asking the question. If you want a luxury dude ranch, you are not going to like any working ranch because they can be pretty rustic. On the other hand, you will love them and hate the luxury ranches if you prefer the real ranch experience. With this top 10, we are going to focus on the really nice resort ranches in no particular order.
1. Triple Creek Ranch If you have a few extra bucks, this is the place. Located in Montana, the ranch is devoted to providing the ranch experience during the day and relaxing accommodations at night that include things like in room massages, big screen televisions and dinners to die for.
2. Rich Ranch Located in the Blackfoot Valley of Montana, the Rich Ranch is in an area just about as beautiful as it could possibly get. The place is simply stunning and worth a close look.
3. Latigo Ranch This is a classic dude ranch. Located in north central Colorado, the lodge is very family friendly and provides a classic ranch like experience. A good deal for the price.
4. Home Ranch This vaguely named dude ranch is located outside of Steamboat Springs in Colorado, which means you know the land around it is simply beautiful and stunning. The ranch is really a home that has rooms as well as eight private cabins. This keeps the total visitors down and creates an intimate environment.
5. Echo Valley Ranch and Spa You've probably noticed British Columbia is pretty beautiful after watching the Winter Olympics in Canada. Well, the Echo Valley Ranch & Spa is one way to experience it. A dude ranch with a spa? Heaven!
6. Coffee Creek Ranch For those in California or wanting to visit it, this dude ranch is very family friendly. Located about an hour out of Redding, California, it makes for a perfect, picturesque vacation.
7. Burnt Well Guest Ranch Located in New Mexico, this ranch is all about wide open spaces. You won't really care about the ranch accommodations, however. Why? You'll be going on cattle drives and be sleeping under the stars!
8. Horseshoe Canyon Ranch Many people think they have to head west to find dude ranches. This isn't really true. Okay, it generally is, but Horseshoe Canyon Ranch offers a great experience from its base in Jasper, Arkansas.
9. K Diamond Guest Ranch Located in Republic, Washington, this is the type of ranch that relaxes you as soon as you arrive. You'll do a slow 360 degree turn and just take in the beauty. As you do, your shoulders will start relaxing and it will be all good!
10. Triple R Ranch This ranch is located in South Dakota. Not many people talk about the state, but it is simply beautiful. The area is wide open and the you can ride horses to places like Mount Rushmore.
