Naturist Massage

A naturist massage is a school of massage therapy in which the client and occasionally, the practitioner, are completely nude. It is not an inherently sexual form of massage (though some masseurs and masseuses also offer additional services) and the genital area is generally left untouched, though the breasts may be focused on. For people who prefer to follow a naturist lifestyle, massage is an ideal relaxation activity that can be carried out in the privacy and comfort of their own home or at a practitioner’s office.

Advocates of the naturist massage claim that it allows for a much greater connection between practitioner and client, and that being naked is the only way to achieve a completely effective all-over body massage. Many non-naturist massage services have a “no touching under the drapes” policy in place, which can mean that the buttocks and upper thighs do not receive attention during conventional massage. Naturist therapy is also reputed to be much more comfortable for the client.

There are also other practical reasons for receiving a massage whilst not wearing any clothing, or without being covered by drapes or towels. Many people find that removing and adjusting drapes can be very uncomfortable, and can actually take up to 10 percent of the time away from a one-hour massage. Advocates of the treatment also claim that it is actually much less embarrassing than being covered or wearing one’s underwear, due to the lack of inhibition. This is particularly the case in those massages where both practitioner and client are naked.

The room in which a naturist massage takes place is generally heated to a higher temperature than a conventional massage suite to account for the lack of towels or clothing. Naturist massages often use Swedish massage techniques, which include use of the fingers, thumbs and palms to knead and stroke various muscle groups. The massage often starts with the client lying on their front, and the masseuse begins from the neck before progressing to the shoulders, back, arms, and lower back.

The massage often takes special care to firmly massage the buttocks before continuing down the legs to the client’s feet, which are then given a short foot massage before the client turns over, allowing the masseuse to work on their front. It is around this point that clients often become sexually aroused (through accident or design), and many therapists are quick to point out that this is not anything to be embarrassed about; it is merely a natural reaction. The massage proceeds up to the abdominal area before paying attention to the chest and breasts.

In short, a naturist massage is not vastly different to a regular Swedish massage, except for the raised temperature and the fact that the client is completely nude. Many masseurs and masseuses do not advertise this sort of massage, but some will be willing to accommodate someone with advance notice. It is always a good idea to check with your practitioner if you think you’d like to try a naturist massage.
