The Perfect Time To Book A Florida Vacation

You love deals, I love deals, we all love deals. If you are looking for one on a vacation, now is the perfect time to book a Florida vacation.

What do we know about Florida? It sits on the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Mention Gulf of Mexico and what does everyone think? Yep, oil in the water. As a result, tourists have bailed out on any beach areas that even remotely border the Gulf of Mexico this year given the BP fiasco.

Savvy travelers are taking advantage of this. They realize that the fact there is oil in the Gulf doesn’t matter because it isn’t hitting most of the beaches in Florida. Consider Miami. It is on the east coast of Florida sitting on the Atlantic Ocean. There is not, has not been and will not be any oil on this side of Florida. Despite this, vacationers have been canceling reservations throughout the summer.

As a smart traveler, this should be setting off “great deal” alarms in your head. Why? Florida resorts and hotels are bending over backwards to try to fill their rooms and save their summer from a financial perspective. This means there are incredible deals out there for you to take advantage of. Prices are down by 30 percent or more for rooms. Most destinations are also piling on the extras for free to entice visitors to come.

Want an example? How about a stay at the beautiful FontaineBleau on the beach in Miami? As of August 2010, you can one night free for every three days reserved to live it up right on the beach. Amelia island's Rise and Shine golf package provides lodging, breakfast daily, 18 holes of golf on the Ocean Links or Oak Marsh course per person per night of stay with cart, bag storage, course guide and practice balls, and use of fitness center at $269 per night resort view or $278 ocean view. Boca Raton Resort Hotel offers The Best of Waldorfs of Florida package, with rates starting at $109 per night plus resort credits of $50 to $100 and 25 percent discount on spa treatments and golf green fees, valid Sept. 6-Dec. 22.

Whatever your choice, it is absolutely clear that thinking like a contrarian can save you a huge amount of money on a vacation this year. Florida abounds with incredible deals! Check them out.
